Perikatan Nasional's candidate for the Kesidang state assembly seat, Albert Kok, expressed confidence that boosted participation among Malay voters could help the opposition coalition overturn PH's hold on the constituency. PH captured the seat in the 2021 state election with a commanding majority of 10,237 votes, but PN believes demographic shifts and improved voter mobilisation efforts present an opportunity to reclaim the seat. Kok's campaign strategy centres on energising the Malay electorate, viewing increased turnout within this voter bloc as crucial to narrowing and ultimately overcoming PH's advantage. The Kesidang seat has emerged as a key battleground in the coalition's efforts to strengthen its position in the state. PN's confidence in a potential breakthrough reflects broader optimism within the opposition camp about its prospects in the coming electoral contest.
