PN may use PAS logo if Melaka election delayed further
Perikatan Nasional could resort to contesting under PAS's symbol if the Melaka state election faces continued postponement, according to a senior coalition figure. The move would come as component parties explore contingency options amid uncertainty over the poll's timing.

Takiyuddin Hassan, a prominent Perikatan Nasional leader, signalled that the coalition's component parties have flexibility in their electoral strategies should the long-delayed Melaka election remain suspended. The option of fielding candidates under the PAS logo represents a potential workaround as the opposition bloc navigates ongoing delays in the state poll. Takiyuddin indicated that PAS, the Islamic party within the PN coalition, has no objection to other component parties using its electoral symbol for the contest. Bersatu, another PN member, has indicated it would contest under its own party logo if the election proceeds. The Melaka state election has faced repeated postponements, creating uncertainty for all political parties preparing their campaign machinery. Coalition partners are now developing contingency plans to ensure they can field candidates effectively regardless of which symbol ultimately appears on ballot papers.
