PN secretary-general disputes Azmin's claims over PAS role in Bersatu deregistration

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general has rebutted claims by PKR's Azmin Ali regarding PAS's involvement in Bersatu's deregistration, attributing the exclusion to tensions within Bersatu itself rather than pressure from coalition partners.
Taki's clarification came in response to suggestions that the Islamic party had played a role in the decision to exclude Bersatu from a July 16 supreme council meeting. The PN official emphasised that internal disagreements within Bersatu were the primary factor behind the move.
The dispute underscores ongoing tensions within the opposition coalition as it navigates questions about party membership and governance. Bersatu's status within PN has been a subject of contention following broader political shifts affecting the bloc's composition and internal dynamics.
The explanation seeks to separate PAS from responsibility for Bersatu's exclusion, positioning it instead as a consequence of unresolved differences within the party itself. The clarification reflects efforts by PN leadership to manage perceptions of unity within the coalition ahead of ongoing political developments.
