PN to assess state chairmen performance by end of month

Perikatan Nasional's secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the appraisal of state chairmen is crucial as the coalition faces challenges related to the standing of its member parties, which he described as not yet stable.

The evaluation exercise is expected to be completed by the end of this month, Takiyuddin said, underscoring the importance of assessing leadership performance amid the coalition's broader organisational concerns.

PN has faced mounting pressure to consolidate its position following a series of political developments affecting its component parties at both state and federal levels. The coalition, which includes PAS, Bersatu, and other smaller parties, has been working to strengthen internal cohesion and party discipline.

The performance review signals PN's intention to address weaknesses within its state-level leadership structure and ensure more effective coordination among its member parties. State chairmen play a critical role in translating the coalition's national agenda into regional action and managing party affairs at the grassroots level.

PN's leadership has previously indicated its commitment to strengthening the coalition's organisational framework and ensuring better alignment among its constituent parties ahead of future electoral contests.
