MANILA — The Philippine National Police maintained heightened security operations at major transport terminals and along key thoroughfares nationwide as the post-Undas travel rush gained momentum. The increased police presence aims to address the surge in vehicular and passenger traffic expected during the return migration period.
Authorized personnel were deployed across airports, bus terminals, seaports, and major road corridors to facilitate smooth traffic flow while maintaining order and preventing criminal activity. The PNP coordination with other agencies focused on managing the volume of travelers while ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and safety protocols.
Officials stated that law enforcement operations would remain at full capacity throughout the return period, with emphasis on maintaining road safety and responding promptly to any incidents or disturbances. The security operations are designed to balance the efficient movement of millions of returning travelers with comprehensive public safety coverage.
The Undas holidays, observed from October 30 to November 1, traditionally prompt one of the year's largest internal migration movements as Filipinos travel to provincial areas to visit cemeteries and family graves, before making their journey back to urban centers and employment areas.
