PNP deploys over 73,000 personnel for Undas security operations

MANILA — The Philippine National Police announced an expanded security deployment of 73,034 personnel to manage the annual Undas observance, marking an increase from the initially planned 72,501-strong force.

The heightened security measures come as Filipinos prepare to visit cemeteries, travel through major terminals, and journey to their home provinces during the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day holidays, a period that traditionally sees significant population movement across the nation.

The PNP indicated that security arrangements for major operations such as Undas undergo continuous assessment and adjustment to respond to emerging needs and conditions on the ground. The reinforced deployment aims to maintain order at key transportation hubs, cemetery locations, and major thoroughfares throughout the holiday period.

The increased personnel allocation reflects law enforcement's commitment to ensuring public safety during one of the Philippines' most heavily traveled holiday periods, when millions of Filipinos venture out to observe traditions and spend time with family members.
