TACLOBAN CITY — The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) has mobilized 19,972 police personnel, members of partner agencies, and civilian volunteers across Eastern Visayas ahead of the Undas season, when Filipinos traditionally visit cemeteries to honor deceased relatives.
The comprehensive security deployment commenced October 29 and will remain in effect throughout the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. PRO-8 officials said the large-scale operation is designed to prevent crimes, manage traffic flow, and respond swiftly to emergencies during the peak holiday period.
The force multipliers, which include both uniformed personnel and civilian volunteers, will be stationed at key locations including cemeteries, major roads, public transportation hubs, and commercial areas throughout the region. Authorities emphasized that the deployment reflects their commitment to protecting the public during one of the year's busiest travel and gathering periods.
The mobilization represents a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies working in tandem to address the anticipated surge in foot and vehicular traffic across Eastern Visayas during the traditional observance period.
