PNP officer testifies on Duterte's firearms cache in impeachment trial

MANILA — A Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO) officer took the stand as a prosecution witness in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, presenting testimony related to firearms allegedly in the possession of Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio.
P/Maj. Joericson Sangalang of the PNP-FEO was sworn in to testify regarding the collection of more than 50 weapons said to be owned by the Vice President and her spouse, which officials valued at a substantial amount.
The testimony forms part of the evidence being presented in Article II of Duterte's impeachment case. The proceedings continue as lawmakers examine allegations against the Vice President, with the firearms registry appearing to feature prominently in the prosecution's case.
