PNP signals willingness to discuss concerns over school shooter drills

The Philippine Psychiatric Association and the Philippine Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry previously cautioned the DepEd about potential risks associated with hyper-realistic active shooter simulations in school settings. The mental health organizations expressed worry that such drills could have adverse psychological effects on students, particularly younger children. The PNP's willingness to engage in dialogue signals an effort to address these concerns before the nationwide rollout of the safety exercises.
