PNP tightens firearm safekeeping rules following Zamboanga school shooting

The Philippine National Police said Friday it would implement stricter rules on firearm handling and safekeeping to curb unauthorized access to weapons. The directive comes in response to a shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University on August 18, in which two high school students were fatally shot by a Grade 8 student armed with a 9mm Glock pistol.
