Pointo eyes Rs 100 crore funding to expand e-auto battery push

Pointo, a battery distribution and service network startup, is actively seeking Rs 70-100 crore in fresh funding to capitalize on India's expanding electric vehicle market and battery storage sector, according to its founder and chief executive Riki Biswas.

The Bangalore-based company plans to deploy the capital towards building an automated large-scale battery refurbishment facility and scaling its distribution network nationwide. Pointo previously secured Rs 6.2 crore in seed funding led by Equirus InnovateX Fund.

The startup has demonstrated rapid growth, with its revenue run rate climbing to Rs 80 crore in FY26 from approximately Rs 3 crore in FY24. The company projects closing the current financial year with revenues of Rs 150 crore, Biswas told PTI.

Founded in 2023 by Biswas, a chemical engineer from IIT Guwahati, along with three co-founders, Pointo is building a closed-loop supply chain spanning battery deployment, buyback and refurbishment. The company is positioning itself across three key growth areas: the rapidly expanding electric vehicle segment, battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid and commercial applications, and second-life battery products that extend the utility of spent cells.

The push comes as India accelerates its transition toward electric mobility and renewable energy adoption, creating significant opportunities for battery infrastructure and circular economy solutions.
