Police arrest 14 students after armed playground brawl goes viral

TAWAU — Police in the eastern Sabah district arrested 14 male students on Tuesday in connection with a violent altercation at a playground that was captured on video and circulated widely across social media platforms.

The students, believed to be school-aged youths, were involved in a group fight in which weapons were used, according to police reports. The incident drew significant public attention after footage of the brawl surfaced online, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.

Investigations are ongoing as police seek to establish the circumstances that led to the confrontation and identify any additional individuals who may have been involved. Authorities have urged the public to provide any information that could assist with their inquiries.

The arrest comes amid growing concerns among parents and educators about rising youth violence and the role of social media in amplifying such incidents. School officials have indicated they will be taking disciplinary action against the students involved.
