The arrests took place Monday in Barangay Estefania, Amulung, Cagayan during an undercover police operation targeting drug trafficking networks in the region. The three suspects include two butchers aged 48 and 32, and a 45-year-old Chinese translator, according to information provided by Major Sharon Mallillin, the Cagayan Valley regional police information officer.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of a substantial quantity of shabu, with an estimated street value of P764,000. Police say the suspects are being classified as high-value drug targets based on their alleged involvement in the drug trade.
The arrested individuals are currently in custody pending the filing of appropriate charges related to violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the wider network of drug trafficking operations in the Cagayan Valley region.
