Police arrest wildlife trader, rescue 15 birds in Bacolod sting
Law enforcement authorities in Bacolod City have arrested a 65-year-old man accused of illegally trading in wildlife and recovered more than a dozen birds during an undercover operation. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group conducted the buy-bust operation in Barangay 30 on Thursday.

The suspect, identified only by the alias "Ancheto," was apprehended during an entrapment operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Barangay 30, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. Police say the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal wildlife trade in the region.
Authorities rescued more than a dozen birds from the suspect's possession during the raid. The animals are being held pending determination of their species and coordination with appropriate wildlife management authorities.
