Police boost school security presence across Mimaropa region
Following a series of violent incidents at educational institutions nationwide, the Mimaropa police regional command has significantly expanded its campus safety operations with additional personnel and assistance facilities.

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Police authorities in the Mimaropa region have intensified their school safety initiatives in response to mounting concerns over campus violence across the Philippines, including a fatal shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato on September 18.
The Mimaropa police have established 9,319 Police Assistance Desks positioned within schools throughout the region to provide immediate support and emergency response. The deployment represents a comprehensive effort to maintain visible police presence in educational facilities and enhance student safety.
As part of the expanded initiative, 4,071 police personnel have been assigned specifically to handle school-related activities and security concerns. These officers are tasked with conducting regular patrols, coordinating with school administrators, and responding to incidents within campus premises.
The school-oriented policing program aims to deter potential violence while building stronger relationships between law enforcement and educational communities. Officials emphasized that the visible presence of trained personnel serves both as a preventive measure and a reassurance to students, teachers, and parents concerned about campus safety.
