Police boost security across Western Visayas for Martial Law anniversary

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) activated elevated security protocols across Western Visayas on Sunday evening, deploying 5,155 personnel throughout the region in preparation for the September 21 Martial Law anniversary commemoration.
The full alert status took effect at 5 p.m. on Sunday and will continue through 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, covering the period when commemorative events and public gatherings are expected across the region, particularly in Iloilo City.
PRO6 officials positioned the deployment to maintain peace and order during the historically significant observance, which marks over five decades since the declaration of Martial Law under former President Ferdinand Marcos in 1972.
