Police bust 76 illegal gamblers across Ilocos region in week-long drive

Law enforcement officers across the Ilocos Region conducted 20 separate operations against illegal gambling from September 1 to 6, according to the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1). The coordinated crackdown resulted in the arrest of 76 individuals engaged in various forms of unlicensed gambling activities throughout the region.

During the enforcement operations, police seized P33,457 in cash identified as bet money, PRO 1 said. The raids targeted multiple gambling operations and venues across the Ilocos provinces, reflecting sustained police efforts to combat underground gaming activities in the region.

The campaign is part of ongoing law enforcement initiatives aimed at curbing illegal gambling, which remains a persistent challenge in many communities across South and Southeast Asia. Police said the operations will continue as authorities work to maintain public order and prevent criminal activities linked to unlicensed gaming.
