KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has clamped down on illegal diesel trafficking following a coordinated operation targeting a smuggling syndicate based in Puchong. Officers recovered a substantial cache of subsidised diesel and cash during the enforcement action, with total seizures valued at RM919,022.
The operation underscores growing police efforts to combat the diversion of government-subsidised fuel into black market channels. Such activities undermine legitimate fuel distribution networks and deprive the state of revenue intended for fuel support programmes.
The PDRM has intensified focus on diesel misappropriation schemes, which commonly involve the purchase of subsidised fuel intended for commercial and agricultural use, only to be diverted for illegal resale.
