Police Clearance Certificate services resume after system restoration

The Sri Lanka Police Department has resumed full operations for issuing Police Clearance Certificates after completing restoration work on its critical data system. The certificates, which are required for employment, travel, and migration purposes, had been unavailable during the system downtime.

The department's technical team worked to repair and restore the database infrastructure that underpins the certificate issuance process. Officials confirmed that all systems are now operational and functioning at normal capacity.

Police Clearance Certificates remain an essential requirement for Sri Lankan citizens applying for overseas employment, higher education programmes abroad, and immigration purposes. The restoration of the issuance system eliminates delays that had affected citizens seeking these documents.

The Police Department has advised applicants to visit their nearest police station or access the service through designated channels to apply for or collect certificates. Officials have urged the public to verify current operating hours and procedures before visiting, as some locations may have adjusted schedules.
