KUALA LUMPUR — The Royal Malaysian Police has dismissed allegations that one of its Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPV) provided an escort to a vehicle suspected of stealing cables in the Ampang area.
Bukit Aman said it is taking the matter seriously and has initiated an investigation into the claims, which have gained traction on social media platforms in recent days.
The incident, which reportedly occurred in Ampang, sparked public concern about possible police involvement in criminal activities. However, authorities have stated that the allegations are unfounded.
Police urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims online and to report any genuine information regarding cable theft incidents directly to the nearest police station or through official police channels. The force said it is committed to maintaining public order and investigating all criminal activities, including organised theft syndicates.
