Police deploy 100 officers to monitor anti-migrant rally in Terengganu

The Kemaman district police headquarters will deploy approximately 100 officers and personnel to manage a scheduled peaceful assembly focused on illegal migrant worker concerns in Chukai tomorrow, according to law enforcement officials.

Police have cautioned organisers to ensure the gathering remains lawful and does not degenerate into inflammatory rhetoric that could provoke unrest or pose public order risks. The assembly, termed "Perhimpunan Aman Bebas Pati," is expected to draw participants concerned about undocumented foreign workers in the region.

The substantial police deployment underscores authorities' commitment to maintaining order while respecting the right to public assembly.
