Police in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune district have concluded an operation against undocumented foreign nationals, identifying 30 Bangladeshi citizens who had been staying illegally since May 2025. Of these, 26 individuals have been deported, according to law enforcement officials.
The crackdown forms part of a sustained enforcement campaign initiated following a Union Home Ministry circular issued on May 2, 2025. The directive mandated state authorities to intensify surveillance and take action against foreign nationals residing in the country without valid documentation or proper visa status.
Police conducted systematic verification drives across residential areas and lodging facilities in the jurisdiction, cross-referencing records to identify individuals whose stay violated immigration protocols. The operation focused on establishments where undocumented migrants were suspected to be residing.
The deportations were processed through the appropriate legal and administrative channels, with the individuals handed over to immigration authorities.
