Police detain over 100 protesters during tricolour march in Delhi

Police arrested between 100 and 150 protesters on Tuesday as they gathered for a tricolour march in the heart of Delhi's administrative district, officials said. Among those detained were Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Campus for Justice and Peace (CJP), and Neha Bora, president of the All India Students Association (AISA).

The demonstration occurred amid intensified security operations across Lutyens' Delhi, the high-security zone housing key government offices and residences. Police had imposed restrictions on gatherings in the area, citing security concerns.

Authorities said the detentions were made to maintain law and order in the capital's sensitive zones. The arrested protesters were moved to police stations for questioning and documentation of charges, officials confirmed.

The incident marks the latest in a series of youth-led demonstrations in the capital in recent months. Student groups and civil society activists have frequently sought to organize marches and protests in Delhi's central areas, though police have consistently enforced restrictions on such activities in the high-security zone.
