Police dismantle parcel scam operation in Manila, arrest 159 foreigners

Law enforcement officers conducted a raid on Tuesday at a suspected scam hub in Pasay City, resulting in the arrest of 159 foreign nationals, according to the Philippine National Police. The detainees include 128 Indonesians and nationals from other countries, with investigators indicating that Vietnamese and Chinese citizens were among the targeted victims.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group characterized the operation as a newly identified fraud scheme that exploited parcel delivery services to defraud overseas victims. Authorities determined the criminal network had been actively conducting scams for roughly three months before the operation was dismantled.

The bust represents a significant enforcement action against transnational crime networks operating within Philippine borders. Police have intensified operations against organized fraud rings that target victims across the region, particularly schemes involving false parcel notifications and payment demands.
