The operation, which came to light following a police investigation, operated by luring unsuspecting individuals through matrimonial channels. Investigators said the gang employed a multi-layered approach to fleece victims of their savings through false promises of matrimonial alliances.
A significant aspect of the investigation revealed international dimensions to the racket.
