Police in Dumaguete City conducted a successful buy-bust operation that netted a substantial drug haul and one arrest, the Dumaguete City Police Station reported Friday. The City Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the operation in Purok Santol, Barangay Balugo, at 11:19 a.m., resulting in the seizure of suspected shabu valued at approximately P7.8 million.
The operation targeted a high-value drug suspect whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities. The arrested individual is now undergoing police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges under Philippine drug laws.
The confiscated methamphetamine has been turned over to the Philippine National Police's forensic laboratory for confirmation and documentation. The bust adds to ongoing law enforcement efforts in the Negros Oriental province to combat illegal drug trafficking and distribution networks.
