Police have launched inquiries into two newly reported rape allegations involving the British comedian and actor, according to law enforcement officials overseeing the investigation.
A senior detective involved in the case stated that recent guilty verdicts in related proceedings may provide confidence to other potential victims, encouraging them to report incidents to authorities. The officer expressed optimism that legal accountability could break cycles of silence surrounding such allegations.
The fresh complaints add to existing scrutiny surrounding Brand's conduct. Authorities have been investigating multiple allegations spanning several years, with the entertainer previously denying wrongdoing.
