KLUANG — Police are investigating a security breach affecting eight LED display screens managed by the Kluang Municipal Council (MPK) after obscene content was displayed on the devices across town.
The incident highlighted vulnerabilities in the council's digital infrastructure, prompting officials to strengthen security protocols for public-facing electronic systems. The screens, typically used for civic announcements and informational messaging, were unauthorised remotely accessed by unknown individuals.
Kluang Municipal Council officials confirmed the breach and stated that measures have been implemented to restore system security and prevent similar incidents. The council has cooperated fully with police investigators examining how the unauthorised access occurred and identifying those responsible.
Police urged members of the public with information related to the incident to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the extent of the breach and establish whether other municipal systems may have been compromised.
