Police launch probe into theatrical skit mocking national principles

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus confirmed Thursday that authorities are investigating a theatrical production that purportedly mocked the Rukun Negara, the cornerstone constitutional framework underpinning Malaysian society. The probe will be handled entirely by the police's Special Investigations Unit, Fadil said. The Rukun Negara, adopted in 1970, comprises five pillars: belief in God, loyalty to King and country, upholding the Constitution, the rule of law, and good behaviour and morality.
