Police nab drug suspect with P1M marijuana haul in GenSan operation

Police in General Santos City conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation that resulted in the seizure of nine kilograms of suspected marijuana and the arrest of one suspect on Friday evening. The operation, carried out at approximately 8:42 p.m. in the Silway Darimco area of Barangay Dadiangas, yielded drugs with an estimated street value of P1.016 million.
The arrested individual, identified by authorities using the alias "Mels," is a 21-year-old resident of Barangay Fatima. Police conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the apprehension and the subsequent drug seizure.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending further investigation and the filing of appropriate charges under existing Philippine drug laws. The case adds to ongoing law enforcement efforts across the region targeting illegal drug distribution networks.
