Police operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit and City Mobile Force Company conducted the successful operation in Barangay Indahag on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect and recovery of the contraband.

The suspect, identified as a major drug trafficker in the area, was caught in possession of the crystal methamphetamine, commonly referred to locally as shabu. Authorities classified the individual as a high-value target based on prior intelligence regarding involvement in large-scale drug distribution activities.

The confiscated narcotics have been secured as evidence and will be subjected to laboratory examination to confirm composition and exact quantity. The case is now under investigation by the appropriate drug enforcement authorities.

The operation is part of ongoing anti-narcotics efforts by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office to combat illegal drug trafficking in the region. Charges are expected to be filed against the suspect in connection with violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
