The Ilocos regional police office conducted coordinated operations between Aug. 15 and 21 that yielded significant results in combating drug trafficking in the northern region. Operatives seized 365.519 grams of suspected methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu, along with 36.3 grams of additional controlled substances during the enforcement actions.
The multi-day campaign targeted suspected drug peddlers across various municipalities and cities throughout the Ilocos Region. Police said the operations were part of their ongoing efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks and reduce the supply of illegal narcotics in the area.
The confiscated drugs and arrested suspects have been turned over to appropriate authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings. The regional police office did not immediately provide details on the specific locations of the raids or the identities of those arrested.
