COTABATO CITY — A non-uniformed personnel of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) was fatally shot in Maguindanao del Norte on Saturday, Aug. 22, authorities said.

The victim was identified as Jonathan A. Juan, 35, who was stationed at the Sultan Kudarat municipal police office. PRO-BAR spokesperson Capt. Steffi Salanguit confirmed the killing, marking the latest in a series of armed incidents in the conflict-prone province.

Details of the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear. Police have not yet identified the perpetrators or disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.
