Police officers held in Telangana anti-corruption bribe case
The Anti-Corruption Bureau in Telangana has arrested a station house officer and sub-inspector from Keesara for allegedly accepting a ₹5 lakh bribe. The officers were apprehended during a late-night operation after accepting the illicit payment from a complainant.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau's City Range-I unit arrested the two officers on the night of September 16 in connection with an alleged bribery scheme. The station house officer was caught around 11:25 p.m. while allegedly receiving ₹5 lakh from a complainant, according to ACB officials.
The bribe was reportedly solicited on the instructions of another officer stationed at the Keesara police station. The ACB's intervention followed a formal complaint regarding the illicit demand for money in exchange for police cooperation.
The case underscores persistent concerns about corruption within law enforcement agencies across Telangana. The anti-corruption body has intensified operations targeting officials accused of misusing their positions for personal gain. Investigations into the matter remain ongoing as authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged transaction and identify other officials who may have been involved in the scheme.
