Police Officers Suspended After Abandoning Duty to Watch Dance Performance

The Superintendent of Police in Kaushambi has initiated action against two constables for dereliction of duty after they were caught on camera leaving their assigned posts to watch a dance performance during a fair in the district.

An investigation was launched following the emergence of a viral video showing the officers abandoning their duties. The inquiry confirmed that Head Constable Raghavendra Tiwari and Constable Govind Rana had neglected their responsibilities during the fair.

Following the findings, both officers have been placed under suspension. The action underscores the police department's commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring that personnel fulfil their duties responsibly, particularly during public events where their presence is crucial for maintaining order and security.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about operational discipline within law enforcement agencies across the region, with departments increasingly turning to public video evidence to identify and address instances of dereliction of duty.
