Police probe drug trafficker's alleged link to Kalutara shooting death

Investigators have launched an inquiry into whether the fatal shooting at Dragon Restaurant in Nagoda was orchestrated by a drug trafficker operating in the Kalutara region, police sources said.
The incident, which occurred in the Kalutara district, resulted in the death of the hotel owner and serious injuries to his wife. Police have obtained information suggesting that two individuals identified as Dodangoda Dhanuka and Nipuna carried out the attack following instructions from the suspected drug trafficker.
Authorities believe the shooting may be connected to drug trafficking operations in the area. The investigation is continuing as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the exact roles of those involved.
The case represents part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat organized crime and drug trafficking networks operating across the Western Province.
