Police are investigating suspected links to Karandeniya Sudda's criminal faction following a shooting in the Halpatota area of Baddegama on Wednesday that left a three-wheeler driver dead.
The attack occurred when assailants in a vehicle opened fire on the three-wheeler carrying three occupants—two women and a man. The male driver was fatally shot at the scene, while details regarding injuries to the two women remain under investigation.
