Police seize millions in fuel, arrest two in Marinduque operation

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A joint police operation in Gasan, Marinduque, has resulted in the arrest of two individuals suspected of illegal petroleum trading and the seizure of transport equipment and fuel stocks worth approximately P3.54 million.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday morning in Barangay Bachao Ibaba, targeted a makeshift distribution point where authorities found the suspects actively dispensing and distributing petroleum products using a tanker truck. Officers conducting the raid apprehended both individuals at the scene and began documenting the seized materials.
The confiscated items include the tanker vehicle and various quantities of petroleum products believed to have been sourced through unauthorized channels. Investigators are continuing their probe to determine the full scope of the illegal operation and identify any additional persons involved in the distribution network.
The two suspects remain in police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges. Authorities have not ruled out connections to larger-scale smuggling operations affecting the region.
