Police seize RM3.2 million in drugs, arrest seven in Penang operation

The Penang Police Department has concluded a major drug enforcement operation that resulted in the seizure of RM3.2 million worth of narcotics and the arrest of seven individuals suspected of involvement in trafficking activities.

During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered multiple vehicles and motorcycles as part of the investigation, with the seized assets estimated at RM89,000. The arrests included a husband-and-wife pair, indicating the involvement of family members in the suspected drug distribution network.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by Penang police to combat drug trafficking in the state. Authorities have intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations targeting organised trafficking rings that supply controlled substances to local markets.

The seven detainees are expected to face charges under Malaysia's drug laws. The Penang Police Department continues to encourage public cooperation in reporting suspected drug-related activities to assist law enforcement efforts in the state.
