Police in Uttar Pradesh intercepted a convoy carrying Ali Ahmad, the son of incarcerated gangster Atiq Ahmad, on Monday as it travelled between Jhansi and Prayagraj for judicial proceedings. The younger Ahmad had been brought to the state capital to record his statement in connection with the Umesh Pal shootout case, a high-profile criminal matter under investigation.
The convoy was stopped in Kaushami district as part of standard security protocols. Authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle carrying Ali Ahmad as well as a separate car belonging to his brother Ahjam during the checkpoint operation. Personnel questioned occupants of both vehicles before allowing them to proceed.
After completing the security verification process, police cleared the convoy to continue its journey to Prayagraj.
