A sudden power outage has disrupted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate Ayush programmes at Satya Sai PG College in Transport Nagar, Jaipur. The incident occurred during the two-hour examination window that commenced at 10 a.m., with the electricity supply failing for approximately 20 minutes and preventing nearly 50 candidates from completing their test.
According to candidates present at the centre, the power failure resulted in significant loss of examination time, as many test-takers were unable to finish their papers within the scheduled duration. The sudden disruption raised concerns about fairness and equal opportunity among those taking the competitive entrance examination.
In response to the incident, the National Test Agency has announced a re-examination for all 49 candidates affected by the power failure. The agency is coordinating with the examination centre to ensure that affected candidates are provided with an opportunity to complete the test under fair conditions.
The Ayush entrance examination is a crucial gateway for aspiring postgraduate students seeking admission to programmes in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy across India. The incident highlights the importance of robust backup power infrastructure at examination centres conducting high-stakes competitive tests.
