Prasidh Krishna ruled out of New Zealand ODI series; Siraj added to India A

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Friday that Prasidh Krishna will not feature in the upcoming one-day international assignment against New Zealand, ending speculation about the right-arm pacer's availability for the series. Krishna sustained the hamstring injury during India's home ODI series against the West Indies, and his inclusion in the New Zealand squad was contingent on receiving fitness clearance.
While ruled out of the 50-over format, Krishna remains in contention for the Test series. The BCCI said the pacer will be assessed for inclusion in the India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, beginning November 7, subject to a fitness evaluation.
"The right-arm pacer, who is recovering from the hamstring injury, will need additional time to build up the workload required to be ready for matches," the BCCI stated in an official release, explaining the need for graduated preparation before his potential return to competitive cricket.
In a separate squad adjustment, Mohammed Siraj has been included in the India A squad for the second four-day fixture against New Zealand A, beginning Saturday. The inclusion addresses India's fast bowling requirements as the team continues preparation for the Test series through domestic competition.
