Pregnant woman killed in land dispute; husband attempts suicide in Pune

A three-month pregnant woman was found dead in Dehugaon, Pune, after being attacked with a sharp weapon by her husband on Wednesday. Subhangee, 28, suffered fatal injuries to her neck inflicted by her spouse Akash during an altercation.
Following the attack, Akash inflicted injuries on himself with a blade and jumped from the second floor of their residence. He sustained a fracture to his leg in the fall and was taken into police custody for medical treatment and questioning.
Investigators said the couple had been engaged in a prolonged dispute regarding the purchase of agricultural land. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The incident highlights the recurring issue of domestic violence linked to property disputes in the region. Local authorities have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
