President Murmu backs rural artists, presents national art exhibition awards

President Murmu underscored the importance of nurturing artistic talent across the country during the awards presentation ceremony. The National Exhibition of Art serves as a significant platform for both established and emerging artists to display their work in contemporary visual art and printmaking disciplines.

The selected awardees represent diverse artistic practices and regional perspectives from across India. By recognising their contributions, the event aims to foster greater appreciation for visual arts and encourage continued creative excellence in the field.

The President's remarks emphasised the particular need to support artists working in rural areas, who often face limited access to exhibition opportunities and resources compared to their urban counterparts. Such initiatives provide crucial visibility and validation for creative practitioners outside metropolitan centres.

The National Exhibition of Art continues to serve as a key venue for promoting India's contemporary artistic talent on a broader platform. The awards acknowledge the selection committee's effort in identifying works that exemplify quality, innovation, and cultural significance within the visual arts landscape.
