President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit the renowned Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada on October 14, coinciding with the region's Dasara Navarathri Utsavams celebrations. The temple, one of Andhra Pradesh's most significant religious sites, will host the presidential visit during the nine-day festival period.
The NTR district Collector announced that elaborate arrangements are underway to facilitate the President's visit. Security measures, traffic management, and crowd control protocols are being finalized to ensure a smooth and secure occasion.
During her visit to the district, President Murmu will also attend the National Saras Mela at Punnami Ghat on October 15. The Saras Mela, showcasing indigenous handicrafts and traditional arts from across the country, provides a platform for artisans and cultural practitioners to display their work.
The dual-day visit underscores the President's engagement with India's cultural and spiritual heritage. Vijayawada's prominence as a pilgrimage center combined with the national crafts exhibition reflects the administration's emphasis on celebrating India's artistic traditions during the festive season.
