Press clubs across region band together to safeguard journalist rights

Press clubs and journalist associations from multiple countries in South and Southeast Asia have joined forces to create a consolidated framework for protecting press freedom and defending the rights of working journalists in the region.

The collaborative effort represents a significant shift toward unified action on issues that have become increasingly pressing for media professionals. These include arbitrary arrests, threats to safety, legal harassment, and restrictions on reporting in various jurisdictions across the region.

By pooling resources and expertise, the participating organisations aim to amplify their advocacy efforts and provide mutual support to journalists facing threats or legal challenges.
