Prisons Department awaits formal notification on Najib house arrest ruling
Malaysia's prisons authority said it has not yet received official documentation regarding the decision to allow former Prime Minister Najib Razak to serve his remaining sentence under house arrest, contingent on payment of his RM50 million fine.

The Department of Corrections said it is still waiting for written notification on the judicial decision permitting Najib to complete his prison term at his residence rather than in custody.
The arrangement would allow the former leader to serve out his sentence at home, provided he settles the substantial financial penalty imposed as part of his conviction. Until the department receives formal documentation detailing the conditions and implementation procedures, it cannot process the transition.
