Priyanka Gandhi pushes Centre on connectivity, tourism drive in Wayanad

Priyanka Gandhi, Member of Parliament from Wayanad in Kerala, has written to the Union Ministry of Communications highlighting connectivity challenges facing residents across the district. The correspondence flags poor BSNL network coverage at approximately 20 locations in Wayanad, underscoring infrastructure gaps that continue to hamper digital access in parts of the region.

The move reflects ongoing efforts to address telecommunication deficiencies in the constituency. Adequate connectivity remains a critical concern for both development and service delivery in the hilly district, which has seen increased focus on infrastructure modernization in recent years.

Beyond the connectivity issue, Gandhi is also preparing to engage with the Union Tourism Minister to advance the 'Brand Wayanad Tourism' initiative. The proposed program aims to strengthen the district's positioning as a tourism destination, capitalizing on its natural landscapes and cultural heritage.
