PSM calls for formal system to act on audit findings
The Socialist Party of Malaysia has urged authorities to establish procedures ensuring that findings from the National Audit Department are properly investigated, acted upon, and reported to the public.

PSM chairperson Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj has called for the implementation of a formal mechanism to handle audit findings, citing the need for greater accountability in Malaysia's public institutions.
Dr Jeyakumar stressed that current procedures are insufficient to ensure that audit recommendations from the National Audit Department (LKAN) are systematically investigated and acted upon. He emphasized that without a structured framework, audit findings risk being overlooked or insufficiently addressed by relevant authorities.
The PSM leader's remarks come amid growing scrutiny of government accountability practices. He argued that establishing clear protocols would strengthen public trust in institutional oversight and ensure that taxpayer resources are managed responsibly across all government agencies.
The proposal seeks to create a transparent process whereby audit findings are tracked, investigated, and reported on a regular basis, allowing for better monitoring of government performance and spending. Such a system, Dr Jeyakumar suggested, would represent a significant step toward improving governance standards in the country.
