The Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM) has urged the government to establish formal procedures that guarantee audit findings receive proper follow-up action and public reporting.
Party chairman Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj highlighted the need for a systematic approach to ensure investigations are conducted into auditor-general reports and that corrective measures are implemented across government agencies. He emphasized that without such structured mechanisms, audit recommendations risk being overlooked or inadequately addressed.
Dr Jeyakumar stressed that transparency in reporting audit outcomes would strengthen public accountability and demonstrate government commitment to addressing identified inefficiencies and irregularities. The proposal reflects broader concerns about governance standards and the effective implementation of audit recommendations at all levels of public administration.
The call comes amid ongoing debates about strengthening Malaysia's oversight institutions and ensuring that findings from audit bodies translate into concrete administrative reforms and remedial actions.
